Chinese cars like Chery and here Lifan seem to be very popular in modern Russia, instead of Lada-VAZ.
These old workhorses from USSR time can still be seen in Russia
GAZ-Volga from 1968 has been facelifted many times, which makes it a bit funny looking with center part being decades old but a modern front and rear end. Volga was the most common taxi in St Petersburg, otherwise Russian cars were a clear minority
Stretched limousines in front of our hotel, pretty untasteful and many were poorly made with flares in bodywork.

No, not a Ford Transit but a GAZ van. In Russia copying is not a big crime... Parked as well as delivery vans here in Finland...
Only older Moskvitsh that I could see!
Lada Samara was the most common police (militsija in Russia) car. DPS means the traffic police.
The hood ornament for Volga is a deer, but this is a later add-on, and maybe a bit too large...
Latest Volga version, with a big chromed ruble grin! The deer fits it as well as the modern front...
The old Lada-VAZ Niva is still going strong. This is not a comfortable SUV but a real 4x4. It is sold both as a longer 5-doors version and under Chevrolet badges. You may well ask how low can Chevy sink with decorating Daewoo and Lada with the old bow tie...
Modern 3110 Volga seen from behind, believe it or not this was introduced 1996 and made until 2004!
Tuning the Russian way: cheap fog lights which help nothing, masks like eyes in front of headlights, a small spoiler in front of hood and grilles on vents.
Volga in offiicial use. Notice the uneven paintwork...
As terraingood as the original Jeep

And back to earth surface, one more Volga version from late 90'ies, rust as standard equipment

In Russia you can also see a lot of JDM- and USA-models like new Camry and here Nissan Teana. These were not sold in European Union due to lacking homolagtion.
